Working today for a better tomorrow. Roy Williams Jr. is running for re-election as Ward 3 Alderman. An Army disabled veteran with 12 years of service, he is committed to responsive, visible representation for every neighborhood in Ward 3.

An alderman should be accessible, visible, and responsive to the people they serve. That means more than posting on social media. It means holding neighborhood meetings, publishing regular updates, asking residents what they need, answering calls, following up on problems, and continuing to knock on doors long after the election is over.
Roy Williams Jr. brings the discipline of 12 years in the U.S. Army and a career of community organizing to that standard. He believes Ward 3 deserves an alderman who treats constituent service as the heart of the job — not a campaign promise, but a daily habit.
“Residents should never have to wonder whether their alderman heard them, understood the problem, or followed up.”
A long-term plan for East Side drainage, road quality, sidewalks, sewers, alleys, and utility reliability — with transparent prioritization and honest timelines residents can see.
Support Ward 3’s small businesses, neighborhood corridors, and local hiring so the ward’s recovery reaches every block, not just the busiest streets.
Strengthen the bridge between residents, neighborhood organizations, and precinct officers so public safety is a continuing conversation, not a one-time reaction.

Roy Williams Jr. has served as the Ward 3 Alderman in the City of Springfield since 2021, originally appointed and then elected in 2023. He is an Army disabled veteran with 12 years of service, a lifelong community organizer, and a neighbor who believes leadership means showing up.
